![]() Who needs to hide? So much misinformation out there. Also who eats what plants? What’s each fishes desired and necessary diet. ![]() Missing size of fish and proper water temp temp they need or can tolerate. Same goes for cories, on which you mean the shoaling requirment and the fact that they are totally incompatible with loaches and "sharks" Zebra pleco is a crude common name for hypancistrus zebra. There’s half a dozen species of this genus commonly traded. And that’s exactly what I mean by overly simplistic. It’s a fish that’s bred in captivity a lot.Going rate is a lot less than the price you mentioned. Zebra pleco- this is a rare and expensive fish keep with very gentle and non agressive fish trust me you dont want this fish getting killed they go for between $400-$1000 dollars a piece depending on size. no slow fish either Not strictly true if you keep a decent sized group. no fish with long fins ith these guys either. Tiger barbs- bad fin nippers and should not be kept in community fish tank unless its a tiger bar community tank. Tiger barbs are best not kept with other barb species which tend to be a lot more peaceful. Just like tetras you need a good sized group. OK.ever hear of bloodfin tetra? Not going to fit this Barbs- Odessa, cherry and the gold barb go with many other fish like eachother bala sharks white cloud mountain minnows(they can handle cold or tropical water temps) and they are peaceful. and anything thats same size or slightly bigger as long as its not big enough to eat them. and some can be kept with discus like the rummy nose tetra and the black skirt tetra. Tetras(characins)- They are schooling fish 6 or more is best.they basicaly all can be kept with each other(except piranah. do not keep with guppies do not keep with gouramis do not keep with "sharks" gouramis are compatible with angelfish discus are compatible with germam blue rams, but both need higher temps (82+ degrees Fahrenheit) also bala sharks need acrylic tanks because when bigger they could easily crack a glass tank arrowanna can also be kept with fish, but other massive ones, not just large plecos most of the other lists are good some are agressive, others are passive, but the thing with bettas is no males together no male/females together females can go together but only in groups of 3+ and in a 10gallon tank minimum, with alot of hiding spots and caves. bettas cannot be kept with most things thier size, it all depends on the betta. goldfish shouldnt be kept with white cloud mountain minnows because goldfish get huge (8+in, the smallest is 5+) and would easily eat the minnows. brinesis (krib) is not a dwarf cichlid, it is an african cichlid, it is just one of the mellowest african cichlid species, another example. I do not like this, some one of them are good, but most are bad, for example. It doesn’t have to be tons of species but I just need hep asap. I’ve added ph balance dechlor, and plan food, and now the ich guard. Ive also tested the water and it is very hard. Anyway, I really am not sure what to do and now my the tetras have ich. Originally, I had platties and gouramies but three of four gouramies died and I gave one to my mom. ![]() he looks like he has some tears as well.this is driving me crazy. ![]() i took the gourami out last night and he was having a hard time so I put him in a pitcher and put that into the tank. ![]() So, now I am not sure who is nipping who. Well, then the plain black skirted tetras started showing signs of distress (only one tank) and so I put them in my long finned came out and seemed like they wanted to school but then when the long finned went to the top, the gourami came zipping by and the poor guy went back into hiding. I took out the injured ones but then I read that you should take out the aggressors as it is stressful enough that you don’t want to add more to injured. The main problem is that the long finned tetra have been beat up pretty badly. My current fish: 8 platties, two plain guppies, 3 black skirted tetras, two long finned black skirted tetras, 1 blue dwarf gourami, and a baby plecastimus. I actually only have this one because I am holding the 36 gallon while my brother is abroad for several years. ![]()
